Beaverbrooks Blackpool 10K, Celebrating 30 Years

The Beaverbrooks Blackpool 10K Fun Run first started in 1983 and has grown in popularity ever since. Attracting thousands of runners each year, the event is organised by the St Annes Coordination of Charities along with Beaverbrooks the Jewellers, The Blackpool Gazette, Radio Wave and the Hilton Hotel, all of whom have provided overwhelming and fundamental support over the last 30 years. The event also wouldn't be possible without the help of various other individuals and organisations including Blackpool Tourism Department, the local Police force, and the 200 marshalls that give up their time on a voluntary basis.

Each year the chosen charity changes and we're extremely proud to have raised over £1.5 million for charities including Cancer Research UK, Manchester Royal Children's Hospital, Trinity Hospice, Brian House Children's Hospice and Blackpool Victoria Hospital for the Blue Skies & Prostate Cancer Appeals. This money has helped to save lives both in the local area and beyond. In addition to these chosen charities, the Fun Run is also a great way for local charities to raise money; organisers estimate that this additional fundraising takes the total figure to over £3 million. We couldn't have done this without your support and so would like to say a massive THANK YOU. Please help us to continue raising money and saving lives by taking part, donating or fundraising. Together let's make 2012 the biggest year yet and celebrate 30 years in style.

From all of us here at the charity, thanks in advance for your support.
